The Acupuncture Board is providing the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (Notice) regarding the proposed regulation that would update the handwashing requirements that eliminate the brush scrubbing and warm water mandate and revise the overall method to reflect U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) standards. The changes also permit the use of alcohol-based hand rubs as a substitute for soap and water, provided they contain a minimum of 60% alcohol and are used following the manufacturer’s instructions.
Further details can be found in the Notice. The proposed language and Initial Statement of Reasons can be viewed here.
